There will be lunar eclipse this November along with leonid meteor shower. The lunar has been scheduled to take place at November 8 before full moon. It will be a little celestial magic and the eclipse will be visible in North America, the Pacific region and Eastern Asia anywhere the Moon is above on Horizon while the eclipse is happening.   During a lunar eclipse, you will likely notice that you can see a lot more faint stars as usually brilliant full moon dims to dull red. Using a binoculars can spy an extra treat as planet Uranus will be visible finger’s width away from the eclipsed Moon. In the pre-dawn hours November 11th you will find Moon directly between Mars and bright bluish white star Elanth. Elanth is second brightest star in the constellation Taurus and it forms the northen horn on the bull.   On November 20h, in the hour before sunrise you can find crescent Moon hanging right above bluish star Spica. It is a giant star 10 times the mass of Sun and 1200 time more luminous. It is located 260 light years away from Earth. While at the evening on November 28th a beautiful crescent moon hangs beneath Saturn in the south after susnset.   The Leonid meteor shower is active throughout November. It will peak after midnight on the 18th with something like 15 to 20 meteors per hour under clear dark skies. Do not miss the celestial magic this November.
