Kathmandu, April 24, 2025 —
The Mobile Phone Importers Association (MPIA) has formally welcomed the newly elected central committee of the Nepal Mobile Distributors Association (NMDA), marking a new chapter in industry collaboration and leadership.
Mr. Deepak Kumar Malhotra, President of MPIA, extended heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Raghu Tripathi on his election as President of NMDA, along with best wishes to the entire team of newly appointed office bearers. He also acknowledged and appreciated Mr. Dinesh Chulyadyo for his exemplary leadership during his two consecutive terms as Chairman of NMDA.
In his address, Mr. Malhotra emphasized the urgent need to strengthen the implementation of the Mobile Device Management System (MDMS). He called for greater collaboration between MPIA, NMDA, and the Federation of Nepal Mobile Business Association (FNMBA) to ensure a secure, structured, and consumer-friendly mobile business ecosystem.
Supporting this vision, Mr. Sanjay Agrawal, Vice President of MPIA, highlighted the importance of discouraging illegal mobile imports and streamlining unregulated borrowing practices that affect the market’s integrity.
Mr. Raghu Tripathi, the newly elected President of NMDA, expressed his commitment to fostering stronger coordination between NMDA and MPIA. He reiterated his focus on addressing key industry challenges while leveraging new opportunities to uplift Nepal’s mobile sector.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment from both associations to work in synergy toward a more ethical, efficient, and forward-moving mobile business environment.
