A Paragraph from “Kathmandu Underworld”

Once I came to know I was in love with her, the first thing I think I did was blink my eyes with her. She gave me a look and disappeared along with fellow mates in the school. I was so much in love that I went to the garden. There was a lonely baby dog, and I found a pair for her. I saw what the power of two is like. The teacher taught us about pollination. One thing flashed in my mind. If bees, butterflies, and wind can do pollination, why can’t I?

I went to the flower vase at my school. I joined another flower with the stigma of one flower.

Dipesh asked me, “Ron, what are you doing?”

I said, “I am pollinating. The flowers are in love with each other. Soon they will have a baby bud, which will grow into a fine rose.”

I started seeing Rami everywhere. She was in gardens, flowers, my mind, every song I listened to, and every poem the teacher recited to us. She was in t-shirts of Bob Dylan and Britney Spears. She was in my moves of my karate class. She was my princess in “Madan and Muna.”

Another Paragraph from “Kathmandu Underworld”

He said, “My children! I am very hungry. Do you have anything to eat?”

Jill said, “All we have is bread and wine.”

He said, “Ok. Give me your rations.”

So he grabbed bread and wine.  I have never seen a man so hungry.

So he thanked us for the ration, and soon we noticed a strange sight. The man started walking on the sea. He started walking on water with his bare feet.

Soon a ship appeared on the horizon. The ship was unusual. It was cross-shaped. The lights were made of pink. Slowly it came near the person who was walking on water. A door opened, and the man walked into the ship. The ship then spread its wings, and it flew in the sky.

We watched the ship in awe. A voice came from the skies.

The voice said, “You have saved a person dying of hunger. You have saved a person’s life. You have a boon. Make one wish and it will come true.”

I am Jill, though. There were millions of things we could ask for. We can ask to live forever. An idea flashed in my mind.
